Conference Theme

Our conference theme is Te Tōangaroa – which means 'The Long Haul'. Te Tōangaroa is the water inlet at the bottom of Pukekawa or The Domain, the land on which the Auckland War Memorial Museum stands. If the waka arrived on low tide, it was a long haul to drag the waka to be beached and to ensure it didn't drift into the tide.

Like many of us mental health and addiction nurses we have been through reforms and changes of government, and we weather the political ebb and flow of tides, we are in it for 'the long haul' or Te Tōangaroa
